Behind the Scenes Party Action
Its important to keep things small and local, so we did a houseparty at our gaff in Lake for our family and friends.
The night was made not by our effort though, it was the people:
There is an awesome little crew of small businesses on the Isle of Wight at the moment that seem to be coming together and thriving, fuelled by enthusiasm. Choosing local is a fundamental part of creating a sustainable way of life, and it was great to throw a party entirely on local produce from our friends; Farmer Jack's Farm Shop (run by our mate Charlie's mum) provided a hamper full of local farm produce and some rocket-fuel preserves from their Arreton Barns base, that blew everyones faces off with flavour. Ed from Goodmans Deli, Ventnor (an old school friend) brought a tonne of pate-look-alike banana cake and local meats, and to round up the night, Xavier at Ventnor Brewery provided us with forty litres of Isle of Wight smoked ale.
As always, our man Julian Winslow was there, this time on the wrong side of the lens, taking a break from shooting all our photos and relaxing with pro relaxer Steph. All in all, an amazing night, and a great gathering of local Island businesses, who, like us, strive to be the better choice for responsible shoppers.
