Eco-Fashion Brand Reels in The Anglers

A leading eco-fashion brand founded by two fishing mad owners has released its collection to the fishing market; recognising the benefits of natural fabrics in sport. These natural fabrics have some impressive qualities.

Rapanui, based on the Isle of Wight, was set up by fishing brothers Mart and Rob Drake-Knight in 2008. The good news is that their collection was inspired by fish and fishing so there are plenty of goodies for the angler.

The robust and hardwearing Motura jacket is sure to keep you warm and toasty, no matter what cold bank you find yourself on. Made of 100% hemp, the most robust natural fibre on earth, this garment is almost bombproof but breathable and never stops getting softer. The Rapanui lads know that fishermen can never resist a good hoodie and they have a couple of big thick hoodies ones, these two items are guaranteed to keep you warm and comfortable.

“The great thing about using eco-fabrics is that often they are softer, more breathable, and stretchier than their synthetic counterparts. Our bamboo tops are hypoallergenic and antibacterial too, so they’re kind to skin.” Said Martin Drake-Knight, designer. “It’s these properties inside the fabric that makes our clothing so perfect for any kind of sport.”

Rapanui’s base-layers are some of the most comfortable and breathable around. The collection of bamboo socks, ethical underwear and bamboo base-layers for men and women, will keep you warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s hot.

The fabrics aren’t the end of the story either - the fishing inspired Ruku T Shirt features a 3d Fish print.

“People who spend a lot of time in or near the water know just how fragile the ecosystems are and tend to be more aware of their impact on the environment” said Co-founder Rob Drake-Knight.

Have a look around the men’s organic clothing collection and women’s organic clothing pages and get a Fish on your T Shirt as well as in your catch net.
