This year we've been working on a couple of secret projects. This is our first design collaboration and, with Ethletic, we've created a limited edition Rapanui version of their eco-friendly footwear. Made from Fairtrade Certified Organic Cotton and FSC rubber, with great Traceability .
These trainers are made using Fairtrade Organic Cotton and FSC certified rubber and are hand-finished in the UK. You can see exactly where, how, and who made these shoes on the map below.

About our Fairtrade Cotton / FSC Rubber Shoes
Ethletic trainers are made with Organic and Fairtrade certified cotton, and FSC certified, Fairtrade rubber - and these Limited edition Rapanui designs are no different. The rubber for the soles is certified by the FSC - sourced from responsibly managed forests, such as the Frocaster Plantation in Sri Lanka. The FSC stamp is on the sole of every pair.
The rubber is also fairly traded. A premium is paid on each kilo of rubber purchased which pays for welfare schemes that benefit the rubber tappers. The trainers are assembled from the FSC Rubber and Organic Cotton in Pakistan. A Fairtrade premium is paid for every pair made which pays for health and welfare facilities for all workers at the Factory. The finished products are shipped to, and distributed from, Rapanui on the Isle of Wight.

It is impossible to make an ethical choice if you don’t know where clothing comes from and how it is made. Very few people do these days, even high-street stores themselves.
