About our Tri-Blend Cardigan
The Rapanui Cardigan is sourced from a prominent American ethical clothing supplier which uses vertically integrated manufacturing in Los Angeles. American cotton farms supply raw cotton to a supply chain that is owned an managed by a single company. This makes for much greater traceability and accountability.
Two US spinning mills supply the domestic cotton which, depending on season, is topped up with cotton from a mill in Pakistan. A single factory in Los Angeles then dyes, cuts and sews the finished garment. The garment is then air freighted to the UK, to accomodate the UK distributors turnaround time. It is therefore the first and only garment Rapanui sell that is supplied by air. The product is then transported, by road, to Plymouth for embroidery and to be hand finished with trims. The finished item is then trucked to, and distributed from, Rapanui HQ in Sandown on the Isle of Wight.
