There is no room for debate, our environment is in crisis. Yet, with the technology available today,
mankind's impact on earth could be reduced by 90%.

This picture on the right shows just a few of the 30 Vestas V52 wind turbines used to power the manufacture of our hoodies. Carbon emmisions are reduced by over 95%.

Our in-house renewable energy and climate change expert explains how Rapanui has responded to climate change;

"Rapanui is years ahead of the Kyoto Protocol's 2007 targets for atmospheric emissions reductions.

In manufacture, Rapanui uses 'green' factories. Most of our production is split between two units, all of their energy needs are supplied by renewables, one has an array of wind turbines and the other an 800,000 Euro, 74,000Kwh/a photovoltaic solar panel array.

All local business will be run on biodiesel, whilst we use a London warehousing and distribution unit also powered solely by green energy.

For finishing, local businesses are used to support the local community and minimise transport emissions. All workers are provided with a bike, cycle rack and shower access at our HQ, which has an active emmisions reduction and energy management strategy; this month we are working on a BREEAM green buildings pre-assessment.

Rapanui endeavours to minimise its emissions further, on target to becoming a net carbon absorber by mid-2008 by switching over to renewables at our HQ.
