rapanui the green clothing company
fair-deal-ethics

We believe that there should be no human cost hidden in our clothing. As a small brand, we are closer to the consequences of our actions, making us very aware of our responsibility to the people we employ.

Our commitment from day one was to only ever use factories that have completed and passed a full Fairwear Foundation audit; this ensures that at every stage in the garment manufacturing process, workers are guaranteed a fair deal.

It is important to us to know that our products are being made in an ethical, positive environment by a happy, well paid workforce.

We endeavour to lead an examined life as a brand; this means examining the entire supply chain and product life cycle, putting the environment and the people at the forefront of every decision we make.

This year we have included one fabric which you may not have heard of before: it exemplifies our commitment to eliminating the environmental and human cost of fashion; Convergence cotton is a fabric that was introduced to us by a friend and factory owner who chose not to turn a blind eye to where his cotton was sourced.

It is cotton that has been transparently and 'cleanly' sourced; out of China, out of Uzbekistan (two of the worst offenders for labour and environmental exploitation) and with full fair-wear and Oeto-tex accreditation.

Some of our products are currently undergoing licensing by Fair-Trade; light at the end of the tunnel for this part of our mission.
