Rapanui's Naked Office
Category: Inside Rapanui
To us it seems totally normal now but if Rapanui taking part in the Naked Office will shock you, look away now...
Hard to know where to start this one. A 'business expert' suggests coming to work naked to improve productivity. National TV make a documentary of the process. Some dubious connections. One award-winning Eco-Fashion brand. Mix.
We were approached by Virgin to feature in a one-hour documentary as the final episode in their series "The Naked Office" which airs 22nd June at 9pm on Virgin 1 and will be repeated on Sunday. We believe our work, changing the fashion industry, improving sustainability, is worth shouting about and we take every opportunity we get to share our story. We were approached by Virgin to feature in a one-hour documentary as the final episode in their series "The Naked Office" which airs 22nd June at 9pm on Virgin 1 and will be repeated on Sunday. Mass media can't delve into quite the detail that our work deserves: Eco-fashion itself can be a fairly intellectual challenge - how do we make our clothing Organic? Where are our wind turbines? How do we make sure all our clothing is ethically made? They want faililng business dark film, cue helicopter-delivery of Virgin's business guru, turns business around, saves world bright lights smiley faces. More Drama, less Docu'...
Thing is we're growing faster than ever and there's no problems to solve, So we just had a laugh. The subject matter is lightweight, there's plenty of opinion, lots of, to be completely honest, bent content to suit the storyline (eco-brothers need to grow up and take business seriously) packaged up into the sound business message: "carry on doing what you're doing" - and we're taking their advice.
It goes without saying that the program won't go into the quality, drive and professionalism with which this award-winning business is run (see here for more about us) but that's not what this is about... it's about entertainment - and the program makers have done a really good job of it - it's great TV.
If you watched the program, we hope you enjoyed it. We agreed to take part in this program to get out there. To get you here, and to help start what might be a little change in your life - to start thinking about one really important question that people dont seem to ask enough - Where does your clothing come from and how is it made?
